01Is this a valuation?

No. AUS Brokers provides indicative appraisals only, not valuations: an estimate based on your figures, published industry sale multiples and comparable listings. If you need a valuation for finance, family law or tax, you'll need a qualified valuer.

02Where do the comparables come from?

Businesses currently listed on major Australian business-for-sale sites, matched to your business type and price range. When your state has too few, we include interstate listings and mark them clearly.

03Will you sell my business for me?

No. AUS Brokers prepares reports — we don't act for buyers or sellers, so you stay in control of your sale. In Victoria, Vic Brokers can sell it for you if you'd like.

04Is AUS Brokers an insurance or finance broker?

No. AUS Brokers is an online business appraisal service for owners selling their own business. We don't arrange insurance, loans or mortgages, and we aren't part of any insurance or finance broking group.

05What do I need to upload?

At least your latest profit & loss. Two or three years of accounts, the lease, the staff roster and a wages or payroll summary make it sharper: with your wages we use what you actually pay each role. Also note anything the accounts don't show: personal costs run through the business, one-off expenses, and the hours you work. The more relevant detail we have, the sharper the appraisal, and those details are often where the value is. PDFs, spreadsheets, Word files, scans and photos all work, and so does a zip file, such as the one your accountant sends.

06What kinds of businesses can I appraise?

Most small and medium businesses: cafés and restaurants, retail, trades, services, health and more — over 60 business types.

07Can I change the wording?

Yes. You can edit the report text and add photos of the business before you download.
